Gymnastics Dress Code

Why do you need to follow the dress code in gymnastics?

In order to create the safest conditions for the child during gymnastics. Therefore, we have prepared a list of our rules for you.

Girls & Boys

  • Hair— must be tied in a ponytail, pigtail or bun so that it does not fall into the face when the child is doing skills over the head.
  • Earrings— only stud earrings are allowed.
  • Clothing— we allow wearing sports shorts and t-shirts, provided that the t-shirt is fitted, and the shorts must not have any snaps, some buttons, zippers or loose ties to prevent them from getting stuck in the equipment.
  • Leotards— we recommend wearing a gymnastic leotard as it is safer, more comfortable and does not distract gymnasts when they are performing any skills, especially when doing handstands and any somersaults over the head.
  • leggings & Shorts— allowed, but not required.
  • Jewelry— any jewelry, piercing or watch should not be worn at the gym. These precautions will protect gymnasts from injury, as jewelry can become stuck in equipment during exercise or when the coach will spot the athlete.
  • Shoes— we recommend barefoot practice as this provides the safest workout for gymnasts, allowing them to better feel the surfaces of the equipment.
  • Nails— toenails & fingernails supposed to be trimmed, as the nail can break off during skill execution and cause discomfort to the gymnast.

NO JEANS, PANTS, BAGGY SHORTS, SKIRTS, BELTS, COSTUMES, TUTUS, ZIPPERS, BUTTONS, BUCKLES!

Thank you for reading our rules and please do not confuse them with tips!
